Having a NERT certification myself I know personally the importance of the program. Somewhat new to the city and having not yet experienced a major quake. in setting up the NERT training, Lt. Arteseros, gave me a greater understanding of the importance of preparation and readiness. For someone from a different region of the country with it’s own forces of nature to deal with I had little knowledge of what to do in a major quake.
Post the NERT training, I have also started working to put together an M.O.U. with the American Red Cross and in time FEMA to insure that the housing complex I live in is as ready for “The BIG One” as we can be. With 260 apartments in the development that I live in, my goal is to be one of the city’s first response centers, post disaster. Lt Erica Arteseros (Team of ONE) has shown me that a “Team of ONE” is capable of starting a movement, a movement that will unquestionably make a difference. Literally the difference between life and death.
Thank you Erica and CONGRATULATIONS.
